We, the people of the First Presbyterian Church of Sausalito, California, by this statement, affirm what presently is and always has been true; that is, that our parish is open to every person. We acknowledge, celebrate, and welcome every type, kind, shape, shade, sex, and/or whatever other designation aids in describing the wonderful varieties in which God's people come.

We affirm that our parish is available for anyone and everyone to participate fully at every activity, on all occasions, in every sense of the word, be it as pastor, elder, deacon, chairperson, officer, teacher, active member, or part-time guest; be it in worship, class, project, activity, baptism, the Lord's supper, marriage, or holy union. It is our understanding that there are no exceptions to this welcome.

We happily affirm this commitment as our way of supporting the just laws of our land, which forbid discrimination in matters of sex, race, age, religion, or national origin. In our commitment, we also support the statements of our General Assembly, which encourage us to support the just laws of our land; but mostly, as our understanding of the spirit of our Lord's teaching to 'Judge not...!' (Matthew 7:1)
