A conference update from our field organizer Michael Adee. Be sure to check out our online conferences page with details about all three of these events.

Three Fall 2005 Regional MLP Conferences - an invitation for you to join us for one or more of these conferences

Are you ready for a place of sanctuary for your body and soul to relax into?
Are you ready for a way to rejuvenate your spirit?
Are you ready for a way to rekindle the fire that keeps you working for peace, justice and change within the church and in society?
Are you ready to experience a loving community that welcomes and affirms persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities?
Are you ready for spiritual nourishment, direction and challenge?
Are you ready for a good time with people who celebrate who you are, your faith and who you fall in love with?
Are you ready to make new friends and have wonderful reunions with friends from the movement you have not seen for awhile?

If you said yes to one or more of these questions, then MLP has an answer for you. Join us for one or more of our three regional MLP Conferences this fall.

As you know only too well, these are challenging times for us as human beings, persons of faith, and as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons, our families and friends. Being in community with each other on retreat is a wonderful way for us to rejuvenate our spirits, celebrate our faith, and explore ways to help stretch our local congregations and empower our Church to live into the Gospel, the extravagant welcome and unconditional love of God. I invite you to consider giving yourself the gift and experience of one or more of these regional MLP conferences designed on a retreat model.

At each of these conferences, you can count on welcoming and affirming worship, times for spiritual growth and reflection, educational workshops, celebrations of community, reunions with friends from across the movement and the making of new friends. Each local conference team is creating their own brand of special hospitality. Part of the joy of these conferences is having the experience of "being the church" together while we are all working for change within our Church.

MLP's decision to offer several regional conferences rather than our annual, national conference this year comes from the intention to create greater access to conferences within regions around the country and to support persons, churches and MLP Chapters who are working for the genuine welcome and affirmation of all God's children, particularly LGBT persons and our families. Vikki Dearing, National MLP Board member serves as the national coordinator and resource person for these conferences.

Register for a conference today. Please forward and share this invitation with others within your local congregation, MLP Chapter, college or seminary community. And, consider inviting and making it possible for someone to go with you - maybe a LGBT student or young adult or a parent. Get a group together from your church, campus or seminary group, MLP Chapter, or presbytery. Think of the blast of a road trip. Or, affordable airlines go to each of these regions as well.

You are invited to join us for one or more of our three Regional MLP Conferences for this Fall, 2005:

1. October 21 - 23, 2005, Louisville, Kentucky
2. November 4 - 6, 2005, Santa Fe, New Mexico
3. November 11 - 13, 2005, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

I look forward to being with you and sharing one or more of these MLP Conferences with you this fall,
Michael

P.S. - Don't delay, Register today. Give yourself the gift of one (or more) of these extraordinary conferences!
