Continuing her active ministry as a pastoral psychotherapist in Midtown, Reverend Swenson lectures, preaches, and leads a variety of educational workshops on local, regional, and national levels.  She is a leading advisor and spokesperson for the Religion and Faith Program of the Human Rights Campaign, and is a close associate of Georgia native Harry Knox, Director of HRC's Religion and Faith Program.  Likewise a leader in the lgbt equality movement, Mr. Knox was recently appointed to President Barack Obama's advisory council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

Touching Up Our Roots:  Georgia's LGBT History Project Initiative, the Atlanta non-profit which promotes, preserves, and publicizes the contributions lgbt people make to our rights and our freedoms, produced this documentary in concert with Atlanta Emmy-nominated videographer Aaron Faulkner,  with support from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.  The documentary is intended to educate audiences nationwide about transgender experiences, struggles, and triumphs to cultivate impassioned activism for the fundamental human and civil rights of all transgender persons.

The Civil Rights Salon festival event will be a fundraiser for Out on Film (www.outonfilm.org) and Touching Up Our Roots (www.touchingupourroots.org), and will be preceded by a "tlgb" brunch starting at 11:30 am at the Ansley Park Playhouse, followed by the screening at 12:30 pm.  The reception is $25 for the brunch and screening, and $10 for the screening alone.  Out on Film Festival passes also are valid for the Salon event.
