Solo Pastor - Church of the Apostles (Burnsville, MN)

A. Major Responsibilities:

 Be a strong administrative leader, encouraging and developing both staff and volunteer personnel in achieving their goals in response to God’s will upon their lives.
 Preaching the Word of God and relating it to daily life.
 Acting as a resource and a teacher for the Christian Education and youth programs.
 Promoting and stimulating outreach ministry programs of the church including ongoing revitalization of the Apostle Groups (small group ministry).
 Coordinating and leading worship.
 Nurturing the congregation through communication, visitation, and supporting individuals and families in crises.
 Leading the confirmation class.
 Facilitating the new member orientation classes.
 Teaching through instruction and educational experiences to enhance spiritual growth.
 Providing personal spiritual care, guidance and leadership for the person seeking to deepen their faith in Jesus Christ.


B.  Characteristics and qualifications needed

We are looking for a dedicated Christian who is a dynamic preacher and teacher.
We seek a person who is warm, confident, and approachable to people of all ages and backgrounds. This person will be comfortable with and have experience in building church membership. He/she will be passionate about social justice issues with the ability and desire to motivate the congregation to involvement. This person will also have the ability to delegate efficiently and be adept at leading change.

-Work with diverse theological viewpoints within the congregation
-Deliver engaging, high quality, and relevant worship experiences that spring from his/her personal faith and spiritual convictions.
-Incorporate diversity in worship (i.e. diverse worship styles)

-Help to grow PCA’s membership, encourage congregational fellowship and reach out to make everyone feel welcomed.
-Relate to all generations, and especially the younger generation and families.
-Identify, develop, and support lay leadership.
-Commit to keeping his/her personal life and work life in balance.
-Support mission.
-Promote and stimulate outreach ministry programs of the church, including ongoing revitalization of our small group ministries.
-Provide spiritual care, guidance, and leadership for those seeking to deepen their faith in Jesus Christ.
